Family and friends,

I’m proud to be one of the co-hosts of the current 100 Great Ideas campaign, and I hope you will participate!  100 Great Ideas campaigns provide an online platform for addressing major issues in Miami and across Miami-Dade.  Previous 100 Great Ideas campaigns have led to tangible improvements in the county library system and in Miami International Airport.  This time we’re hoping to improve the way that Miamians get around town.

Here’s how it works: rather than making folks take a day off from work and spend hours sitting in a commission chamber waiting for their turn to speak, we make participation easy. You can submit your ideas from a cell phone or laptop.  No idea is too big or too small.

The current idea campaign focuses on Transit and Mobility.  We’re looking to collect your best ideas about how to improve walking, running, bicycling, riding (buses and trolleys and Metrorail and Metromover), and driving in our community.

Through Sunday night at 11:59 pm you have the opportunity to visit the 100 Great Ideas Facebook page or Tweet using #100greatideas and submit as many ideas as you have.  Once the week is over, we’ll review the thousands of ideas submitted, summarize them into a report, and meet with our top transportation officials and leaders in Miami and Miami-Dade. We hope you’ll join us for this important ride.
